Impact
At Navachetana, our impact is measured not just in numbers but in the stories of lives transformed. From realising entrepreneurial dreams to achieving financial stability, our customer’s stories echo the success of our mission. We take special pride in the stories of women who have found empowerment and financial independence through our initiatives. These testimonials stand as a testament to the unwavering commitment of Navachetana to empowering individuals and communities through accessible and transparent financial solutions.
Abhilasha, a rural woman, aspired to be financially independent and contribute to her family’s well-being. She started a small business by investing in one cow and worked tirelessly to meet
the demand for cow milk in her area. However, with growing customer needs, she needed expansion.
Navachetana’s Rs. 75,000 loan in December 2023 enabled her to triple her herd. Her business thrived, leading to increased income and financial security. Grateful for Navachetana’s support, Abhilasha aims to expand further, ensuring a brighter future for her family, including quality education for her son.
Smt. Salamma, a farmer from Karnataka, transformed her life through sericulture & Navachetana’s support. With a loan of Rs. 50,000 in 2022 from Navachetana, Salamma cultivated
mulberry plants, the foundation of sericulture. This initial success ignited her ambition. With renewed confidence, she secured Rs. 75,000 to expand into silkworm rearing, creating a complete sericulture operation.
Salamma’s success extends beyond her farm. She actively shares her knowledge and experiences, motivating women from self-help groups to adopt new technologies.
Archana Sagar lives in Omerga Taluka, Maharashtra. Her limited education and societal norms confined her to household chores. She and her husband, Shankar, worked as daily
wage labourers. They struggled to make ends meet for their two daughters.
In 2019, Archana and Shankar opened a small shop in their home with a Rs. 50,000 loan from Navachetana. Archana and Shankar, with their unwavering perseverance, diligently repaid the loan and restarted the business.
Archana joined the JLG in June 2022 and accessed another Rs. 50,000 loan, which she used to expand their shop’s inventory. Today, their daily turnover thrives at Rs. 4500-5000, generating a healthy profit.
Sarojamma, a farmer from Hassan district, faced hardships due to unpredictable weather and crop failures. To secure a stable income, she and her family explored other opportunities.
With Navachetana’s support of ₹70,000, Sarojamma purchased a milch cow. This investment not only provided a steady income but also improved their overall quality of life.
Encouraged by the success, Sarojamma sought another loan of ₹100,000 to expand her ventures. She bought a second cow and ventured into sericulture. To optimise resources, she creatively used cow dung as fertiliser, reducing expenses.
Nagamani, a Denkanikottai resident, has been crafting bamboo and wood baskets for over a decade, a tradition passed down through generations. Her family’s livelihood depended on this craft,
but deforestation threatened their business. Facing a shortage of raw materials, they turned to Navachetana for help.
A Rs. 40,000 loan from Navachetana was a lifeline. With this support, Nagamani’s family could purchase the necessary materials, reviving their basket-making business. Their high-quality, eco-friendly products found a ready market, ensuring a stable income.
Sowbhagya, a mother of two from Thimapura, faced financial challenges while striving to provide for her family. Her husband worked tirelessly, but their combined income was insufficient.
Determined to improve their situation, Sowbhagya decided to start a tailoring business.
With a Rs. 30,000 loan from Navachetana, Sowbhagya purchased a sewing machine. As her business grew, the demand for specialised stitching increased, necessitating a zigzag machine. Navachetana once again came to her aid with a Rs. 50,000 loan.
Now, she contributes significantly to her family’s income and alleviates her husband’s financial burden.
